The Heart Meridian of Hand - Shaoyin

The Heart Meridian of Hand - Shaoyin originates from the heart. Emerging, it spreads over the " heart system " ( the tissues connecting the heart with the ether zang - fu organs ) . It passes through the diaphragm to connect with the small intestine . The ascending portion of the meridian from the " heart system " runs alongside the esophagus to connect with the " eye system " ( i.e., the tissues connecting the eyes with the brain ) . The slight portion of the meridian from the " heart system " goes upward to the lung . Then it follows downward and emerges from the axilla ( Jiquan, H 1 ) . From there it goes along the posterior border of the medial aspect of the upper arm behind the Lung Symptoms:Disharmony of the Heart Meridian leads to pain at the heart position (precordial pain or pain at the sternum). In TCM, the heart rules the blood and the pulse. Without sufficient nourishment, an individual may feel thirsty and have a dry throat. Pain in the inner side of the forearm and heat in the palm may also indicate problems in this meridian.Main indications: Acupuncture points in this meridian are indicated for heart, chest and mental problems. They are also indicated for symptoms along the meridian.
